Book a demo
We show Knuut through your daycare's everyday routine. After the demo you know whether it suits you and what it costs.
- 01
Leave your details
Tell us briefly how many units and children you have. We usually reply the same working day.
- 02
Remote demo, about 30 minutes
We walk through a unit's day in Knuut: check-ins, staff ratios, care times and communication. Ask anything.
- 03
Onboarding at no extra cost
We bring the children, guardians and staff into the system, set it up for your units and guide staff and guardians into the apps.

Before the demo
Answers to the questions that usually come first.
What does Knuut include?
Six apps: admin, unit, staff, guardian, substitute and management. Onboarding, support by phone, WhatsApp or email, and updates are included too. You can have unlimited users, units and devices.
Knuut in use in two hours. How does that work?
Getting started is quick. Daycare management should set aside about two hours for it. In that time we bring children, guardians and staff into the system, go through each app, and Knuut is in use the same day. Onboarding is not billed separately.
Does Knuut work for a chain with several units?
Yes. Units belong to the same organisation. Each unit can have its own admins who see only their own unit, and management has a view of all units at once. Substitutes can take shifts from every unit.
Does Knuut work for a single-unit daycare?
Yes. Many single-unit daycares use Knuut in their daily work.
What devices are needed?
Nothing new. The unit app runs on an ordinary phone, iPhone or Android. Admins use a web browser. Guardians, substitutes and management use their own phones, and the apps are in the App Store and Google Play.
How are staff ratios calculated?
The ratios come straight from the Finnish Early Childhood Education and Care Act (540/2018) and the decree issued under it. In a full-day group of children over 3, there may be at most seven children per ECEC professional (1:7). For children under 3 the ratio is 1:4, and for children over 3 in part-day care it is 1:13. Knuut calculates the ratio from check-ins in real time: when a child or staff member is checked in on the unit phone, the unit's ratio updates at once, and children under and over 3 are counted with their own coefficients. When a unit exceeds the legal ratio, the understaffing shows immediately in the unit and in admin, not a week later in Excel.
What do guardians see?
Their child's care times and absences, announcements, polls and conversations with staff. Guardians do not see each other or other children. A child can have several guardians, and each has their own account.
Who can see the children's data?
Only those it belongs to. A guardian sees their own child, a staff member their own unit, and a substitute no child data at all. Organisations cannot see each other. Every change to a child's data is logged with who made it, so you can always tell afterwards who did what and when.
Can we try it before deciding?
Every daycare can try Knuut free for a month. We do the onboarding together, the apps are taken into use and the whole organisation gets to try it. If Knuut is not right for you, the trial ends at no cost.
Where is the children's data stored and how is security handled?
Knuut is a Finnish company and was built from the start for Finnish early childhood education. All data about children, guardians and staff is stored on servers in the EU, and all data transfer is encrypted (TLS 1.3). Data is never sold, never shared with third parties and never used for advertising. Access is role-based: a guardian sees only their own child, a staff member their own unit, and a substitute no child data at all. Every change to a child's data is logged with who made it and when. Backups are taken daily and kept in a separate location. We follow the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and act as the data processor, with the daycare as the data controller. A data processing agreement (DPA) is always signed during onboarding.
